*I Nobili Rossi* compares two great expressions of Italian wine, each originating from profoundly different regions and traditions. Ripa della Volta’s Amarone della Valpolicella takes shape on the high hills of the Valpantena, where native grapes are left to wither before undergoing a long ageing process in oak. Orlando Abrigo’s Barbaresco Meruzzano, on the other hand, is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in Treiso, on south-facing limestone slopes. Two outstanding reds, united by the time required for them to fully express their character, yet each capable of conveying the essence of their territory in their own distinct way. Using selected nebbiolo grapes solely from a specific vineyard plot, this wine carries scents of red fruits and boasts soft tannins on the palate. It's a distinguished red wine, suitable for pairing with meats, cured meats, or aged cheeses.
