Longo Speciality is a family-owned company founded in 1961. Rooted in our traditions yet committed to continuous innovation, we are always striving to generate tangible value. That's why, for the first time, we have decided to create a sustainability report. This virtuous action aims to be increasingly transparent and clear to our stakeholders, publicly sharing our everyday approach.
In recent years, there has been growing awareness that nutrition plays a central role in addressing sustainability challenges. Although informally, we have always considered environmental and social aspects, and for quite some time, we have initiated initiatives in this direction. We apply this commitment in our daily work with the goal of dignifying food, which then assumes a primary role in improving quality, health, and the environment.
With this report, we want to make our determination to continue in this direction explicit and formalize it to all our stakeholders. The document aims to identify and monitor the impacts of our activities, with the goal of controlling performance in the most critical areas from a sustainability perspective, assessing possible intervention options for further corporate development and growth in an ever-evolving market.
In particular, we pay great attention to the selection of products we market and include in gift packaging, with a deep knowledge of the territory, suppliers, and their production processes. We also place equal importance on the choice of packaging and production processes, which must be respectful of environmental and social balances. To address this challenge with a comprehensive approach, we refer to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the United Nations Global Agenda for sustainable development. We firmly believe that sustainable development is a goal that can only be achieved by contributing to a shared commitment.
