It takes time, effort and expert staff in the packaging phase, crucial to the gift process.
Longo's starting point is: “If I were to receive this gift, would I be delighted?” Every person involved in this phase - over one hundred in the period before Christmas - is fully committed to making sure the answer is always “Yes”. This is why, first and foremost, we have meticulous engineering procedures.
Firstly, practicalities should be considered. Depending on the gift, every product has an exact position within its packaging and must be inserted in a precise sequence. This is to prevent damage during transport. For added security, each item is double packaged, one inside the other. For packing we use shredded paper, natural and much more disposable than plastic.
No less important is aesthetics. Each product is placed in a special cardboard carton. Bottles for example have packaging that highlights the label.
Almost all stages in the packaging process - 5,000 gifts per day in our busiest periods - are carried out manually. An artisan touch that makes the difference between a gift and a Gift with a capital G.
