For the last few years, since this need became compelling, my role in the company became tinged with green. I am responsible for logistics management, packaging, the spaces in which our employees work and energy requirements, and I have had to establish a new ethos that is appropriate to modern times. Reduced electricity consumption from a photovoltaic installation capable of producing 106 kWh, reduction in CO2, monitoring of packaging biodegradability and cooperation with environmental protection bodies are some of the important goals we have achieved.
Being involved in this vast environmental sustainability project gives me great satisfaction: we are proud of the results we have achieved with LifeGate. We have reduced the environmental impact of our catalogues and the packaging for over 316,000 products to zero, and, since 2010, we have contributed to the annual and progressive creation and protection of 35 thousand square metres of forest in Costa Rica and Madagascar. This makes our gifts delicious, beautiful, ethical and green.
